Yokohama comments on positive W.Drive winter tyre test results

Yokohama’s W.Drive V905 winter tyre has followed the strong showing of the Advan Sport summer tyre in the UK’s Evo Magazine tyre test, with a set of strong performances in tests across Europe. In three separate reports, two in Germany and one in Switzerland, the tyre finished among the top ranked products.

The W.drive V905 won the highest accolade awarded in the 2015 annual ADAC winter tyre test report, with a ‘Good’ rating. The W.drive was one of only two tyres achieving that designation from the 19 tyres tested in total. Also in Germany, the OAMTC, another national motoring organisation, awarded the W.drive ‘Highly recommended’ status, while in Switzerland, the same was awarded by its national organisation, TCS.

Commenting, managing director of Yokohama HPT, David Seward, said; “I am delighted that the Yokohama W.drive V905 has performed so well in these test. We have had superb feedback on the tyre since its recent launch and to have it so highly praised by these three respected motoring organisations is a superb endorsement of its abilities.

“While here in the UK we tend not to have such severe winters as parts of mainland Europe, it is not unheard of, as we have seen in recent years. However, the benefits of using a winter tyre in the colder months have been clearly demonstrated on numerous occasions.

“We have seen increases in demand for our winter tyres in the last few years and with endorsements such as these from the recent tests, more people than ever are realising the benefits of using Yokohama winter tyres such as the W.Drive V905.”
