All premium products “highly recommended” in Offroad 4×4 winter tyre test

German magazine, Offroad has “highly recommended” four out the five 4×4 winter tyres tested on snow, ice, wet, and dry surfaces. Mounted in size 245/65 R17 H on Volkswagen’s Amarok Canyon, the Goodyear Ultra Grip+ SUV, Nankang Winter Activa SV-55, Nokian WR SUV 3, Michelin Latitude Alpin LA2, and Pirelli Scorpion Winter participated in the test, with the Nokian model finishing as the winner. The Nankang tyre was ranked in last place, perhaps unsurprisingly given it was up against premium brand competition. The tyre was not considered to be without merit: Offroad praised its low noise level, and said its snow performance was comparable to other brands. The tyre was judged to be weakest in wet and ice braking.
