Tyre Bay Direct celebrates 10 year anniversary
Formed in 2005 by Roger Stote, Tyre Bay Direct has built its business from an original focus on nitrogen inflation systems
Tyre Bay Direct has celebrated 10 years in business. Now a family run business, Tyre Bay Direct was formed in 2005 by Roger Stote, becoming a name associated with nitrogen tyre inflation systems. With the growth in popularity of nitrogen inflation, Tyre Bay Direct has since had successful relationships with some of the largest and most recognised companies in the industry, including Kwik Fit, Selecta Tyre, Merit Tyre and Halfords. Today Tyre Bay Direct have nitrogen tyre inflation systems installed in over 1,200 tyre shops and fast fit centres across the UK and Europe.
Leigh Stote, Tyre Bay Direct co-owner said: “Although we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary we are still a relatively young business. We’re extremely proud of what we have managed to achieve in this short amount of time and we’d love to share our success story.”
Tyre Bay Direct was born on the strength of Roger Stote’s years of experience in the tyre industry, starting with Monarch Remoulds, and continuing with the development of an innovative tyre inflation system known as Uniflate, which replaces compressed air with nitrogen. In 1991, the creators of the Uniflate systems were approached by Goodyear to develop a tyre inflation system for Formula One racing. The success of the original system led to its adoption by all subsequent tyre suppliers in F1 racing.

Leigh Stote added: “Now in the 10th year of the business, Tyre Bay Direct are extremely well placed in the tyre and aftermarket industry. Known as the go-to supplier for garage equipment, tyres, tyre consumables, and workshop tools we have a huge and ever-growing customer database. It gives us great pleasure to know that we have helped set up and kit out countless garages and mobile vans across the country and throughout Europe to great acclaim. Last year we were announced as a finalist for Tyre and Aftermarket Supplier of the Year and this year we’re hoping to be considered again.”
To mark its 10 years in business, Tyre Bay Direct will give away a tyre changer. The Unite Pro UP650 24″ fully automatic lever-less tyre changer is capable of changing runflat tyres with its three-way assist arm. Customers who have placed an order worth more than £100 between 10 August and 30 September will be entered into a draw, with a winner to be chosen and announced on 1 October.
