Michelin top in DJSI World rankings automotive equipment sector

The Michelin Group has once again been commended for its commitment to sustainable development. The latest Dow Jones Sustainability World Index ranking (DJSI survey by RobecoSAM), gives Michelin a score of 87/100, up four points, which takes it to first place in the original equipment sector. Michelin ranks first in its sector in relation to 12 of the 18 assessment criteria used by the survey in the three major CSR fields: social aspects, environmental aspects and societal aspects.

Michelin’s performance in the social sector particularly stands out, with a significant increase in the quality of its relationships with stakeholders (up 27). The company also keeps the maximum score of 100 for its climate strategy for the second consecutive year in the field of the environment. In the economic field, Michelin performs best on five of the six criteria, with the largest increase in relation to its code of ethics and compliance policy (up 15).

Launched in 1999, the DJSI was the first global index to determine the best performing companies in terms of sustainability. Today, for investors, the DJSI World is the most widely recognized sustainability index. Each year the 3,400 largest listed global companies on the Global Total Stock Market Dow Jones index are invited to participate in the survey conducted by RobecoSAM. Of the 2,500 companies evaluated this year (in all sectors), 317 were included in the final classification.
