Continental launching automotive software training scheme

Starting in September, Continental will introduce a new programme that will train “young people who are passionate about IT” to become automotive software developers. According to Ariane Reinhart, the tyre and automotive systems manufacturer’s Executive Board member in charge of human resources, the training programme will be based in Germany and involve close collaboration between Continental’s various divisions.

“With this new training programme, we are laying another foundation that will give young people the training they need in this fast-growing field, and by doing so we are keeping abreast of changes in the industry,” Reinhart stated. “It is ideal for people who want to help us shape the future.”

A total of 28 places will be available during the first year of the three-year training programmes. Training will take place at nine sites throughout Germany, and trainees will gain experience at various sites.
