£1 million investment in BookMyGarage.com
Motorists will never need to feel like they are being taken for a ride again with the launch of an interactive booking directory of garages, which allows motorists to get instant prices for their car’s servicing, MOT, and repair requirements. The Motorist’s Organisation’s £1m investment sets to save consumers time and money by giving them the transparency of information to make an informed booking decision with confidence.
BookMyGarage.com has been designed to cut through the complexity of car servicing by providing an easy to use online help guide as to which service their car currently needs, and obtain instant prices from preferred local garages. Motorist are then able to book their preferred date and time online, in real time.
Over 5,000 garages have already signed up to the service, with The Motorist’s Organisation expecting this number to more than double in the next 12 months.
The BookMyGarage (BMG) service can either be embedded onto a garage’s website or Facebook page, as a booking widget on the website, or for garages without a website, a comprehensive and cost-effective web package can be offered.
The management team behind the £1m investment boasts a mix of previous experience at notable organisations including Autotrader, Jobsite.com, Bentley and Rolls-Royce.
Karen Rotberg, director of BookMyGarage.com, said: “Our service has been created to appeal to the needs of increasingly connected, time conscious, on-the-go consumers, who don’t necessarily have time to ring round garages to get quotes.
“Both independent and chain garages are able to use the service which provides a huge range of options for consumers, and also helps smaller garages gain access to really valuable business. As garages are able to offer discounts through the platform at quieter times, it enables them to fill spaces up quicker and easier.
“Although BMG has only just launched this month, we have been developing the back office systems since 2012, and have powered RAC Garage Compare since December 2014.
The site is free to use for consumers – users simply enter their vehicle registration and postcode, plus the type of service they require from a menu, and are then provided with a host of options.
Both RAC Garage Compare, and BMG work on a ‘no work, no fee’ basis and garages are charged a 10 per cent fee upon completion of the work.
