Brake Engineering expands disc range

Seven new brake discs have been added to the Brake Engineering range, covering no fewer than 70 vehicle applications.

The braking specialist prides itself on bringing to market sought after products that fit and the range extension covers numerous vehicles including: Citroen DS4, DS5 (2010) and C4 Grand Picasso (2013); Hyundai Veloster (2011); Kia Ceed and Rio (2011); Mercedes Benz A and B-class series (2012); Mitsubishi ASX (2010); Peugeot 308 (2010) and Vauxhall Astra (2011).

Also newly introduced this month into the Brake Engineering product range are two new brake drums for the Renault Twingo (2007) and Mazda 2 (2007).

Brake Engineering is working with installers and motor factors on the correct fitting of discs with a range of information available. The company says that it is absolutely imperative that the surface of the hub is thoroughly cleaned prior to fitting a new disc and this includes removing any surface dirt and grime, rust and corrosion.

The company has also widely discouraged the use of copper grease on vehicles with aluminium parts.  That’s because copper grease and the aluminium parts form an Electro-galvanic bond. This means the connection works with the humidity in the air and salt in the minerals from dirt and acts like a battery. The consequence of this is accelerated corrosion.
