Stamford Tyres OTR specialist David Brooks dies
Singapore’s Stamford Tyres has announced the death of its longstanding OTR tyre consultant, David Brooks.
Brooks, 69, the brother of former Rema Tip Top UK managing director Terry Brooks, finally lost a brave fight against cancer on Sunday, 31 May. He leaves a wife, Janet, daughters, Nicola and Sharon plus grandchildren, Samantha, Louise, Joseph and Ryan.
David Brooks worked in the tyre industry for almost 44 years, initially joining Derbyshire based OTR Tyres in 1971. He was responsible for the operation of its retreading division before joining Stamford Tyres in Singapore in 1997 as a consultant for its OTR division.
Stamford Tyres states that during his eighteen years with the company, he was an integral part of the ongoing development of its mining tyre division in various parts of the world, with a particular emphasis on the Indonesian market.
