Protyre buys Walkers Tyre Service
Protyre has announced its acquisition of Walkers Tyre Service, a well-established business operating four sites in the Leicester area. The deal is the latest in a series of acquisitions completed by the Micheldever Tyre Services Ltd-owned business and brings the number of centres now operated under the Protyre brand to 70.
Last month, Micheldever revealed plans to expand the Protyre network to over 100 sites within the next 18 months. Nine sites have now been acquired and integrated into the Protyre family in the past 12 months.
The addition of the four Walkers sites, which will continue to trade under the Walkers brand and with the existing team remaining in place, also significantly increases Protyre’s presence in the Midlands. Walkers will specialise in Micheldever’s Falken brand.
Simon Hiorns, Protyre’s retail director, said: “Walkers Tyre Service is a fantastic family-owned business, which has been operating for more than 40 years. It has a proud history and a terrific local reputation for delivering great customer service, technical expertise and value for money, all the qualities we expect from our own centres. In that respect, it is a natural fit with Team Protyre and I am very happy to be welcoming the business into our family.”
Jeremy Page, co-owner of Walkers Tyre Service, said: “I firmly believe that becoming part of the Protyre network is a positive and natural step for Walkers Tyre Service. Over the past 40 years, we have built a strong and close relationship with our customers and our ambition was always to ensure that they, as well as our staff, are well looked after long into the future. I am very confident that with Protyre, the business is in safe hands.”
