Nexen gains Smart Forfour and Renault Twingo OE

Nexen Tire’s N’blue Premium has been selected as original equipment for the Renault ‘Twingo’ and the Smart ‘Forfour’ compact cars. According to Nexen, its tyres will be standard equipment for the two cars, which were co-developed by Renault and Daimler AG.

The N’blue Premium is described as an eco-friendly tyre with improved fuel efficiency. It was received Special Mention at the German Design Award 2015 for its sophisticated European styling. The tyres will be fitted at the Renault assembly plant located in Novo Mesto, Slovenia, and scheduled for sales in the European region.

“The consecutive supplies of its original equipment tyres to leading global car manufacturers prove that Nexen Tire’s outstanding products and performance-driven technology are well recognized,” said Nexen Tire representatives in a statement, adding: “As much as supplies of original equipment tyres have a positive effect in the replacement equipment tyre market, we plan to raise greater brand awareness and strengthen our market positioning through expanding supplies of original equipment tires to global car manufacturers.”

Nexen supplying its tires to various global car manufacturers, including Mitsubishi, Fiat, Volkswagen, Chrysler, Skoda, and SEAT. At the beginning of 2015, the company supplied the Roadian CT8 SUV/LTR to FCA’s first crossover vehicle, the 500X and the CP671 to its commercial van, the Ducato.
