Second Aeolus tyre range receives TÜV mark
Quality certification by a known, independent organisation adds weight to a product’s credentials, and earlier in the year Aeolus Tyre announced that its new PrecisionACE2 had been awarded the TÜV Tire Test Mark from certification specialist TÜV SÜD. The tyre maker stated at the time that approval of this first product from the ACE2 portfolio would soon be followed by the TÜV certification of a second range, the SteeringACE2. This has now been achieved.
Both products are new on the market in 2015 and supplement the existing Aeolus Tyres range in Europe. The SteeringACE2 (AU03) is set for a summer launch and a total of 50 dimensions are planned – a line-up that starts at 16-inch, 60 series tyres and extends to 19-inch, 35 series fitments.
“Our SteeringACE2 has demonstrated in all the demanding internal tests and particularly in the external tests conducted by TÜV SÜD that it also meets high European quality standards,” stressed Thomas Wohlgemuth, general manager West Europe at Aeolus Tyres. “The SteeringACE2 will particularly impress sports car enthusiasts who place great value on sporty performance, driving stability and brake power, even in critical situations. We are very happy with the response from our customers, who confirm to us that it is both right and important to receive external and, above all, independent confirmation of our product quality through the certificate. We want our customers – and by that I particularly mean drivers who use our tyres – to feel very safe from the start when choosing Aeolus tyres.”
The SteeringACE2 is a more performance-oriented product than the PrecisionACE2 and focuses on driving stability and braking performance. The tyre features an asymmetrical tread pattern for tracking stability and three wide circumferential grooves plus slashed-shaped grooves on the shoulders to aid handling in the wet. The silica tread compound aims to offer the optimum balance between traction and efficiency.
