Cinturato P7 Blue wins Russian magazine tyre test
Pirelli’s Cinturato P7 Blue has won the summer tyre test conducted by Russia’s Za Rulem magazine. Meaning ‘Behind the Wheels,’ the magazine is a popular monthly publication in Russia focussing on cars and the automotive industry.
During the test, the Cinturato P7 Blue in 16-inch fitment was compared with 10 tyres and subjected to a series of challenges including braking, handling, comfort and fuel efficiency. The Pirelli tyre was declared test winner with a score of 944.
Za Rulem commended the Cinturato P7 Blue on its braking and grip capabilities in both wet and dry conditions, lane-changing speed, consistent handling, excellent road-holding ability and decent fuel consumption. It also has the best price to quality ratio.
The Cinturato P7 Blue tyre is a high performance tyre designed for medium and large saloons offering an unconventional ‘trade-on’ between wet performance and rolling resistance, whilst maintaining high levels of mileage due to the uniformed distribution of the footprint contact pressure.
The carcass rigidity of the Cinturato P7 Blue tyre reduces rolling resistance leading to better fuel economy, and the four wide longitudinal grooves offer excellent water expulsion providing outstanding safety and control. The innovative tread compound delivers excellent handling as well as grip and braking in the wet allowing for safer driving – all qualities that have been recognised in the Za Rulem tyre test.
Pirelli UK managing director Dominic Sandivasci commented: “We are very proud of our Cinturato P7 Blue and that it has been recognised by a top Russian motoring magazine as being the best. We have had a lot of success with this tyre over the past year, receiving test compliments from other motoring magazines including the UK’s Auto Express and Germany’s Auto Bild.”
