Hankook Smart Control AW02 TBR tyre wins Red Dot Design Award 2015

Hankook’s Smart Control AW02 has received the prestigious Red Dot Award: Product Design 2015 in the Vehicle Accessories category. The manufacturer says the tyre met the international panel of judges’ expectations for innovation, functionality, ecological compatibility, and durability. The tyre was one among 5,000 entries from 56 countries.

“Hankook once again has been recognized for its innovative technology through the prestigious Red Dot Design Award,” said Gangseung ‘Tony’ Lee, vice president of marketing and sales, Hankook Tire Europe.  He added, “In keeping with our commitment to technological leadership, Hankook will continue to develop and introduce cutting-edge products.”

The SmartControl AW02 is a winter truck & bus radial designed for severe weather condition. Providing superior traction on snowy and icy roads with Hankook’s advanced 3D Kerfs Technology, it also boasts increased durability. It has a wide tread design to create an improved contact shape, while its groove and lug design protects the rubber against cracking.

In 2014, Hankook received recognition from the world’s top design awards – the iF Design Awards, Red Dot Design Award, IDEA, and the Good Design Awards – for its innovative product design.
