‘James Hunt’ overalls from Rush to be auctioned for charity
CharityStars, an online charity auction house based in Milan and London, is offering a unique piece of motorsport history for sale: the overalls worn by actor Chris Hemsworth, who played James Hunt in the film Rush. Details of the auction can be found here.
These unique overalls, used throughout the making of the film, were originally given to former grand prix driver Jarno Trulli, who has decided to donate them to charity in order to raise money for a new emergency ambulance for Croce Viola – a voluntary ambulance service – in Milan, which has been saving lives for more than 60 years.
One of the volunteers to drive the Croce Viola ambulances is Pirelli’s racing manager Mario Isola, who fits in his shifts whenever his other commitments allow. “The charity does amazing work throughout the whole community and I feel privileged to be a part of it,” said Isola. “We’re very grateful to the world of Formula One that recognises the value of what we are doing, and has donated items for auction so generously as a result.”
