New ‘megaspin’ range from Hofmann Megaplan raises the bar
Hofmann Megaplan, long associated with groundbreaking technology when it comes to wheel balancers, has recently introduced what it claims to be the most advanced, user friendly, and reliable wheel balancers ever produced.
The all-new megaspin 420 and 820 models arrive hot on the heels of the revolutionary handspin model, the megaspin 120 that was introduced last year. The megaspin 120 represented a huge step forward in itself, as it provides the World’s first ‘handspin’ balancer with 3D (Fully Auto) data input. Like the 120, the new 420 and 820 models bring with them another ‘world first’ that changes completely traditional procedures and introduces a totally new standard for speed and ease of use.
The megaspin 420 and 820 are the first-ever balancers to feature ‘No Checkspin’ technology. Traditionally, the operator has always had to make a final ‘checkspin’ after applying the weights in order to ascertain the wheel is balanced. With the new models from Hofmann Megaplan, the new operating procedure means this is no longer necessary. After the imbalance cycle, the combination of an automatic locking of the wheel into position, and the guidance of a laser spot, ensures the operator knows exactly where to place the weight. There is no possibility for error, and therefore no need to re-spin after applying the weights.
Additionally, the relocation of the weight application position to 6 o’clock, as opposed to the traditional 12 o’clock position, combined with a design that allows much better access for the operator, means that these brand new models are also more user friendly than anything ever produced before them. An LED even illuminates the inside of the rim to assist the operator with a clear working area.
