Heuver Tyrewholesale establishing French distribution centre
France is a stated focus market for Heuver Tyrewholesale this year, and the company is thus establishing its own distribution centre there. The wholesaler says its preparations for the new centre, which is located near Lyon, are now in their final stages. In hand with this project, Heuver is also expanding its French market workforce.
“We’ve been active in France as the exclusive importer of Aeolus truck, agricultural and earthmover tyres for some years now,” commented Bertus Heuver, director of Heuver Tyrewholesale. “The French market holds many opportunities for Aeolus despite the presence of a strong national brand. We’ve already gained a very good name with the (Aeolus) brand in other major European markets. But if you want to be successful, you need to invest, even when you can assume that the currency exchange rates in Europe won’t positively develop. You must remain active and always on the ball. In recent months our account team in France has taken shape and we’ve also found a good location for our distribution centre. We’ve now reached the stage of setting our direction and building up stocks. We expect to be able to open by mid-March.”
According to Bertus Heuver, the new facility will be able to promptly supply the French market, with orders received before 4pm delivered the following day. “We’ll be better able to support the tyre trade in France with this subsidiary. Having your own local employees and stocks is a significant advantage, and it is this approach that motivated us to invest in France.”
