Automechanika Kiev 2015 cancelled
The owner of the Automechanika franchise has announced the cancellation of Automechanika Kiev 2015. “In view of the current political situation in the Ukraine, the première of Automechanika Kiev planned for 9 to 11 June 2015 has been cancelled,” reported Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH today.
“We have now made two attempts to enable our customers from the automotive aftermarket to do business in the Ukraine,” comments Automechanika Brand Manager, Michael Johannes, in a statement. “Nevertheless, given the situation prevailing there at present, it is impossible to hold the fair at this time.”
Plans for the new Automechanika called for it to have been organised by Independent Expo Ukraine, the partner of Independent Expo Automotive BV from the Netherlands and official licensee of Automechanika Kiev. Berco Stukje, managing director, Independent Expo Automotive BV, adds: “We are very sorry to have to remove Automechanika Kiev, which should have opened its doors in four months, from the programme. However, the interests of the exhibitors are of paramount importance to both Messe Frankfurt and Independent Expo.”
Automechanika Kiev was to take place in KyivExpoPlaza, the country’s largest exhibition and congress centre, and have been the first and only B2B event covering Ukraine’s entire automotive industry.
