CATs return to Klarius portfolio

The New Year has begun at Klarius with the reintroduction of a large portion of the company’s extensive catalytic converter range. The list of part numbers covers around 70 per cent of the company’s most popular products, all manufactured in the UK and fully type-approved. The latest product references are now live on the Klarius electronic catalogue and various sourcing platforms such as TecDoc.

As a precautionary measure, Klarius withdrew some of its CATs from sale during December 2014, due to a legacy type approval certification issue caused by a former supplier. As a strong supporter of type-approval and better quality in aftermarket components, Klarius immediately contacted the VCA in the UK and the original issuing authority to resolve the documentation glitch. As a result of this swift action, the company can confirm that all catalytic converters manufactured and supplied to date are both fully legal and will perform to the usual premium quality standards.

Klarius has also now changed the type-approval certificate for a large number of its products and used this as an opportunity to remind the market that the range is available at competitive prices and with a genuine quality advantage over many competing products. “Klarius only uses quality catalyst monoliths with a high level of precious metal coating; the monolith is the ceramic brick that sits inside the CAT and acts as a substrate for the coating, which is the catalyst for the reaction that cleans up the exhaust emissions – more metal coating means a better quality product,” comments the company.

The catalytic converters produced by Klarius are manufactured, tested and fully test fitted to real-world vehicles at the firm’s manufacturing and R&D centre in Cheadle. Klarius says it is the only manufacturer to design and test all of its aftermarket replacement parts on actual vehicles of the corresponding model and year, which allows it to offer the ‘Klarius Fit First Time’ guarantee.
