ATG inaugurates new tyre plant in India

James Clark, president of Alliance Tire Americas, signs the first tyre produced in Dahej

The new, 54,000 ton per annum Alliance Tire Group factory in India’s Gujarat state is now in operation. The company reported the inauguration of its third facility (the others being Hadera, Israel and Tirunelveli, India) in the second half of December 2014, and said the US$150 million facility in Dahej will reach full capacity in early 2016. At this date it is expected to employ some 1,500 workers.

The plant manufactures off-highway tyres for global markets, and its location on Gujarat’s coast ensures a fast and steady flow of both raw materials and finished tyres. According to Alliance Tire Americas president James Clark, who attended the plant’s official inauguration ceremony, the plant has been designed and built using state-of-the-art manufacturing and testing equipment, and it can boast energy efficient operation and zero effluent discharge.
