Vertu Motors becomes TyreSafe member
Vertu Motors, the sixth largest dealer group in the UK, a group encompassing well-known dealers such as Bristol Street Motors, Macklin Motors, Farnell Land Rover and Vertu Honda, has become the latest company to join tyre safety organisation TyreSafe.
As part of its ongoing commitment to customer service and community safety, Vertu Motors already offers free tyre safety checks at all of its dealerships and conducts extensive tyre training for its advisors and technicians. However, as a TyreSafe member, the group is seeking to place even more emphasis on tyre safety issues and will actively support TyreSafe’s campaigns in-store, in local communities and online.
“We are delighted to welcome on board such a major dealer group,” comments TyreSafe chairman Stuart Jackson. “Tyre safety remains a significant problem in the UK so it’s essential that we continue to engage with new members such as Vertu Motors, who can help educate drivers and make a real difference on a daily basis.”
As a TyreSafe member, Vertu Motors will have early access and awareness of campaigns being organised by the group, helping it to plan and tailor its own integrated activities. Furthermore, Vertu’s sites will have added online visibility with drivers through being added to TyreSafe’s online member locator and Tyre Safety Companion app, which provides motorists with a host of tyre safety advice while on the go through their mobile phone.
Since its inception in 2006 with 14 founder members, TyreSafe’s membership has now grown to more than 80 members and supporters coming from a wide range of sectors including tyre manufacturer and retailers, car manufacturers, dealer groups, insurers, fleet providers, emergency services, local road safety partnerships and many more.
TyreSafe says its awareness and education efforts have helped reduce the number of tyre related casualties by 38 per cent since it began, yet in 2013 there were still more than 950 tyre related casualties on the UK’s roads. The organisation encourages any party interested in supporting TyreSafe’s efforts to find out more by visiting www.tyresafe.org.
