Klarius exhaust maintains performance for Nissan 350Z
The Nissan 350Z has two qualities that make it a favourite for petrol heads: it’s fast and it’s reliable. The only drawback to this is if something does go wrong it can be hard to find an aftermarket solution that doesn’t break the bank – or the car’s performance figures. Fortunately for fans of the sporty coupé, Klarius has developed a full exhaust system which is type approved to European standards and offers identical performance figures to that of the original equipment.
Doug Bentley, Head of Product Development at Klarius, comments: “The Nissan 350Z is extremely popular on the second hand market as it offers performance car thrills for a modest budget. The cars are reliable, but after many years and thousands of miles on the road parts will inevitably start to wear. One of our customers approached us to develop a full exhaust system as there weren’t any quality aftermarket solutions available. Thanks to our R&D capabilities we were able to quickly design, test and produce a type approved system that meets the OE performance figures.”
Within two weeks of the initial request from its customer, Klarius was able to develop a full exhaust system – front to back – and drive it through production to make it available from stock. As with all of its emission control products, the full exhaust system was tested on the car, at the Klarius ISO-10844 approved test track. The system matched the OE performance and received type approval in accordance with EU law; making it the only type approved aftermarket solution available on the European market. The exhaust naturally includes OEM size/style exhaust tips. Klarius recognise that aftermarket systems not only need to perform like OEM systems, but also look similar, especially for performance car drivers such as 350Z owners.
The full system is available as three separate parts: exhaust connecting pipe (DN667C), exhaust box on centre pipe (DN668B) and exhaust box with tail pipe (DN669A). Klarius monitors all stock levels throughout the day, operating on Lean Manufacturing principles to ensure that its parts are always available for same day dispatch to the European market.
With over 10,000 exhausts, CATs, DPFs and mountings available from stock, Klarius is able to cover 98 per cent of the UK car parc. It is constantly developing new systems in response to market demands.
