Kerr’s invests in 14 new jobs, Newtownards tyre centre
Kerr’s Tyres has announced it is investing in 14 new jobs across the chain’s Antrim, Belfast, Coleraine and forthcoming Newtownards tyre centres following an investment of more than £1,000,000 in the business. The jobs will range from tyre fitters, breakdown fitters, mechanics, mobile mechanics, apprentices, IT personnel and assistant managers.
Announcing the news, Norman Kerr, managing director of Kerr’s Tyres, said: “We have experienced sustained growth in the business in recent years and following a review of our business plan we have decided that the time is right to invest in further growth and expansions for the business. We are particularly pleased to announce the opening of a new Tyre Centre in Newtownards to serve the Ards & North Down areas in the New Year.”
The new Newtownards centre, which opens in the early part of 2015 is the fourth for Kerr’s Tyres in Northern Ireland and the seventh for the company across the UK, will offer a range of tyre, battery, exhaust, MOT, wheel balancing and alignment parts and services. In addition alloy wheels will also be stocked.
Recent months have seen Kerr’s Tyres announce large fleet contracts with the likes of Hannon Transport, Montgomery Transport and the Henderson Group. This recent investment of more than £1,000,000 sees Kerr’s Tyres establish aim to develop further as one of Northern Ireland’s leading tyre distributors.
