Triangle set to expand North American distribution
Triangle Tire is planning to expand its role in the North American market through a distribution partnership. The news came as part of a presentation given at the company’s annual meeting, which was held in parallel with the recent SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The company also highlighted two new product launches
Tyres & Accessories’ North American editorial cooperation partner Tire Review reported that in future tyres would be distribution by Triangle Tire North America LLC, a strategic distribution partnership between Triangle Tyre Co. and Oriente Triangle Latin America, the Latin American distributor and marketer of Triangle Tyre.
Tire Review quoted Gus Lima, CEO of Oriente Triangle Latin America Inc, as saying: “With the introduction of these new products and its newly formed U.S. distribution partnership, we are seeing Triangle evolve into a more modern aspect of business”.
According to various online new sources, Zhong Shen, global product manager for Triangle, commented: “In order for Triangle to acquire a global company status, we must better service our dealers by expanding our footprint, filling in the gaps with new products that meet market needs, and increased line coverage of SUV and LT tyres.”
Triangle released the Sportex UHP tyre and the Triangle Protract in the value segment. The tyres are said to have been developed at the company’s Triangle’s technical centre, the A3T, in Akron, Ohio. Triangle also reported that the Akron-based R&D centre is currently scheduled to work on 29 major projects in 2015.
According to reports, the asymmetric Triangle Sportex UHP will be released in North America, Europe and China, in 21 sizes by December 2015 and 13 more by the end of 2016 – all in 16-24 inch diameters.
Similarly, the Triangle Protract will also be released in the North American, European and Chinese markets. This tyre will be released in 25 sizes by the end of 2015. 15 more sizes will follow in 2016. Diameters will range between 13 and 17 inches.
Triangle executives shared further details on their expansion and product development plans at the Essen show in Germany earlier this year. This presentation covered similar ground, but highlighted the European perspective.
