Lodge Tyre to invest in CAM UniSerV CV tyre platform in 80th year
Celebrating 80 years in 2015, family-run Lodge Tyre is to invest in CAM’s UniServ commercial tyre platform. CAM says the system will allow the tyre operator to capture job information in real time, with links to third party breakdown systems included. The commercial vehicle tyre supplier said the system would help it to continue a recent period of growth. Lodge claims its business has grown 10 per cent per annum for the last 10 years.
Lodge Tyre recently relocated one of its warehouses to Droitwich and now boasts 19 cost centres employing some 150 people. One of the issues its locations faced was the heavy burden of administration. UniServ will enable the company to centralise many of the admin functions into its head office, supported by Cameo in the background. It will send jobs out to its fitters via tablets who will then transmit a report back to head office once they are completed for invoicing and sending to third parties via CAM’s 3Pi module.
Martyn Lodge, financial director of Lodge Tyre, says: “The time was right to adopt UniServ. CAM has many of the bigger players involved and the platform is proven in the marketplace. The industry is now going in the right direction in terms of reducing admin burden and we wanted to be a part of the future potential to distribute information to other third parties and across accounts.”
Mike Allen, managing director of CAM, adds: “Lodge Tyre’s continued expansion is testament to its vision and drive to be a major part of the truck tyre industry of the future. By aligning its growth potential with UniSerV we are confident it will be able to achieve its exciting ambitions.”
