Goodyear launching upgraded eCasing system
A rollout of a new version of Goodyear’s eCasing system has begun. The tyre maker describes the new version of its web-based commercial vehicle tyre casing management system as “improved” and says it will be progressively introduced throughout Europe. The UK will be one of the first markets to receive the new system.
The current eCasing system is employed to manage fleet and dealer truck, bus and coach tyre casing and retread requirements, and it supports all of the Goodyear retread business options; Customer Owned Casing, Casing Exchange, Casing Purchase and, in some markets, Casing Bank. These give fleet operators and Goodyear dealers a range of options, including selling their serviceable casings back to Goodyear, having their own casings retreaded and returned to them or exchanging casings for retreads. The new version of eCasing continues to offer these options and now will be an integral application of the new Goodyear eBusiness B2B platform. Goodyear says this integration will make eCasing very easy to use, while improvements included in the new version will offer customers greater visibility, traceability and more up to date information than the previous system.
The markets where the existing eCasing system is operational are Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and the United Kingdom. Starting in June, the new version of eCasing will be introduced first in the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg and then rolled out across Europe.
Goodyear says the new upgraded version will enable customers to choose their desired retread design online from a full picture library of designs for all applications. Users will be able to track Customer Owned Casings and Casing Exchange flows online and, via a ‘Customer Dashboard’, the eCasing system gives access to all documentation relevant to the customer, such as casing return notes, disposal certificates, casing purchase orders and billing documents.
The development of the new version of eCasing is the first of a number of improvements to Goodyear’s commercial business solutions that the company intends to introduce in 2014. During the course of this year, Goodyear also plans to upgrade its leading fleet management system Fleet Online Solutions (FOS), and the new eCasing system will be an integral application within FOS Next Generation.
