TIA board elects Formanek as secretary; Wolfe as treasurer

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) recently elected Tom Formanek as its new board secretary at its biannual meeting held 18-20 June 2014. He will begin his one-year term as secretary on 3 November. After that year, he will proceed as vice president, then president, then past president; all of these positions are for one-year terms.

Formanek has over 27 years in the tyre service industry. He is currently regional sales manager for Stellar Industries corporate based out of Garner, Iowa. Stellar Industries is a manufacturer of a complete line of tyre service trucks for the commercial tire service industry. He has served on the TIA board since 1993 as part of the NTDRA, TANA and now TIA. He is a past supplier group chairman of the NTDRA. Formanek has held the position of TIA treasurer for the past six years and has also served as chairman of the events, training and membership committees.

In addition, the TIA Board of Directors elected Mike Wolfe as its new board treasurer. He will begin his three-year term on 3 November 2014.

Wolfe started his career in the tyre business in 1978 working at his family’s firm and then worked at various companies in the industry before starting Southeastern Wholesale Tire in 1994 where he is currently the Owner/Operator. Southeastern Wholesale Tire, with locations in Raleigh and Greenville, NC, specializes in specialty ttres such as large farm, industrial, and OTR tires. He has served on the TIA board for seven years.
