Kumho study shows widespread ignorance
A recent study by tyre manufacturer Kumho reveals some worrying statistics about UK car owners. About a third of motorists rely on their annual MOT to discover mechanical faults and to reassure them that their car is fit for use. One in three motorists aged 18-25 declared they never checked if their tyres were properly inflated, while one in four haven’t analysed if tread depth is within legal limits.
Most surprisingly of all, a massive 20 per cent of U.K. drivers don’t know how to open the bonnet of their own vehicles.
