Derek Carruthers joins Cooper Tire Europe

Derek Carruthers has been named as sales and marketing director for Cooper Tire Europe. Within the internal corporate structure, Derek Carruthers will be reporting to managing director Jeff Schumaker and is responsible for sales, marketing, pricing and customer service.

Carruthers began his career in the tyre industry at Pirelli UK Ltd, before moving to Bridgestone where he served as divisional director, Consumer Products Europe. Most recently, Carruthers served as sales and marketing director for the New Car Tyres Division of Marangoni.

Commenting on the new assignment, Jeff Schumaker stated: “We welcome Derek to our European Technical Centre in Melksham. Having gained a wealth of experience in tyre sales over the last 25 years, his tyre industry knowledge, as well as strengths in strategic planning and business development, makes him an excellent fit for this position. It is an exciting time for Derek to join the business and we believe his experience will bring a great deal to our organisation.”
