Impressive Drift debut for Westlake Sport RS

Westlake Tyres, Zhongce Rubber’s premium tyre range, is making a name for itself in European motorsport through its participation in the prestigious Kings of Europe Drift Series. Flying the flag for British drifting and Westlake tyres in this demanding series of drift challenges is Steve ‘Baggsy’ Biagioni, backed by the Acorn Zenises Motorsport team.

The Westlake Sport RS is making its first outing in Europe since undergoing extensive development at Zhongce Rubber’s global technical centre outside Shanghai. The Sport RS certainly made a great impression at the first round of Monster Energy Kings of Europe Drift Pro Series at the Greinbach circuit in Austria. The new Westlake liveried car excelled on its competition debut and was just edged out of first place after cutting through the high calibre field. The RS Sport tyre, with its asymmetric pattern and high speed stability central rib, has been specially designed for drifting excellence and Biagioni paid tribute to the part played by the tyres.

“The car has been pretty much perfect all weekend,” commented ‘Baggsy’. “I’d like to put a lot of the awesome result down to the new Westlake tyres. The levels of grip are much more predictable and all the runs have been very competitive. It’s a fantastic start to the season and I can’t wait for the next round.”
