New fitments join Michelin agri line-up
Michelin has extended its agricultural tyre portfolio with new sizes for the AxioBib, MegaXBib and MachXBib ranges. The company says these offer the optimal solution for increasing profitability within agricultural operations at a time when increasingly large land areas are being worked and demands placed upon harvesters and tractors are growing.
AxioBib IF 650/60 R34: This high-demand size is suited for tractor front axle fitments, combining high load capacity with a low tyre pressure; Michelin says the tyre is the ideal partner to the rear axle IF 710/75 R42 and IF 900/60 R42 sizes. The French manufacturer adds that the use of its Ultraflex Technologies enables a 20 per cent improved load capacity over tyres that lack the technology.
MegaXBib 1050/50 R32: This harvester, beet lifter and liquid manure truck tyre has a load index of 184, which equals a load of up to nine tonnes per tyre – 1.5 tonnes higher than the same-dimension predecessor tyre. To achieve this higher load index, Michelin’s engineers gave the MegaXBib a modified casing with a steel belt ply. This enables for a higher load with a maximum tyre pressure of 3.8 bar. Pressure can be reduced to 1.0 bar during field work.
MachXBib 900/50 R42: This latest size comes with a load index of 168 (up to 5.6 tonnes per tyre) plus a ’D’ speed rating, enabling it to be driven at speeds up to 65km/h or 40mph.
