INSA and Bandamatic launch Smart Way approved retread compound
Industrias Negromex S.A. de C.V. (INSA), a subsidiary of Grupo KUO and Bandamatic announced that they jointly developed a truck tyre retread compound that meets US EPA Smart Way requirements for class eight truck tractor unit and trailer tyres at the start of 2014.
According to the company, this product was developed by using Emulsil “Silica Master Batch” and H.B. plus Bandamatic Smartech tread design technologies. Furthermore full-scale production facilities reportedly demonstrated that the performance of tyres produced with these
technologies are capable of meeting Smart Way criteria for tractor and trailer tyres. EPA´s Smart Way verified tyres represent a significant reduction in fuel cost of over 3 per cent when combined with verified steer tyres.
The H.B. plus Bandamatic TRA12 and BTM18 Smartech pre-cured tread is said to have accomplished rolling resistance reductions without diminishing tread wear, and along with an improvement in rebound of 30 per cent. Furthermore a reduction of 50 per cent of tan delta @ 75°C was accomplished versus a standard carbon black recipe.
H.B. plus Bandamatic has had an established reputation for over 37 years. The company produced a wide variety of pre-cured rubber tread designs up to date factories, with modern laboratories and highly-trained and personnel.
INSA belongs to Grupo KUO, a leading industrial conglomerate. It is the sole producer of Emulsion Synthetic Rubber in México. INSA’s facilities are strategically located in the city of Altamira Tamaulipas in one of the most important industrial corridors of Mexico. The facility has nominal capacity of 150,000 metric tonnes a year and exports to more than 40 countries around the world.
