Maxam and Stamford sponsor Indonesia golf event

In December Maxam Tire, along with its distributor Stamford Tyres, the company sponsored a golf tournament in Indonesia. The event – the Sorowako Golf Tournament was held over two days at the Sorowako Golf Club and, for the sponsors, Federico Fiorini of Maxam and Erwin Chua from Stamford Tyres International attended the tournament.

Why should a manufacturer of giant OTR tyres get involved in golf? Well, there is a connection, as the 18-hole Sorowako course is actually located on a mining site; furthermore, those taking part were sponsors and employees of the mine.

Two days of enjoyable and competitive golf ended with an awards ceremony and a dinner, attended by the participants and golf club officials. “We like to think that we are more than just a supplier of products and events such as this enable us to get closer to our customers and to say ‘thank you’ for choosing MAXAM”, said Maxam Tire CEO Ian Thomas.
