UK Insa Turbo 4×4 retread sales rising steeply – Micheldever
The UK distributor of Spanish 4×4 retread tyre brand Insa Turbo has reported “extremely strong” growth for the product, having increased year-on-year sales by more than a third in 2013. Micheldever (MTS)’s 4×4 specialist division Southam Tyres said unit sales have risen by 36 per cent, as sales director Alan Baldwin suggested several reasons for the brand’s strong performance.
Baldwin said that the “product quality is exceptional , and the Insa Turbo customers we have taken to the state of the art factory in Spain are always astonished by the superb facilities and manufacturing process, which starts with the microscopic selection and x-raying of all the donor casings, all of which are of premium origin.”
Baldwin continued: “The exceptional quality of Insa Turbo products is demonstrated by the tiny number of complaints, with a lower recorded percentage than many new tyre brands.” He also cites the range’s motorsport success as proof of its quality; the tyre was used by the winners of the AWCD off-road Safari 2013 championship.
“When the clear environmental benefits of re-manufactured tyres are added to superb tread designs and the manufacturing excellence of a top producer, 4×4 users get the best of performance and value , and Insa Turbo tyres get well deserved incremental sales.”
UK dealers have mentioned the burgeoning market for retread 4×4 tyres, and economic conditions and the desire to make inherently fuel-hungry vehicles more ecologically sound – as evinced by the advent of “greener” new 4×4 tyres – make the argument for retread products in this sector ever more palatable.
