Smithers names new senior managers

The Smithers Group has announced organisational changes within the Smithers Rapra/Smithers Pira operations in Europe and North America. The company has named a new vice-president and general manager for both regions, as well as a new managing director of global information business.

As of 1 February, Jim Popio will be promoted to the position of vice-president and general manager in Europe. Popio has worked with Smithers for more than 12 years, most recently as general manager of the company’s Ravenna laboratory. In his new position, Popio will focus on leading growth within the Smithers Rapra/Smithers Pira European operation.

Effective 28 February, Jesse Roeck will serve as the company’s North American vice-president and general manager, after leading the European business for three years. He will be responsible for operations based in Akron and Ravenna, Ohio and operations in Soo and Lansing, Michigan, the company said. He will focus on driving growth and operational excellence within the Smithers Rapra/Smithers Pira North America organisation.

Rav Lally will take on the position of managing director, Smithers Information/Smithers Rapra/Smithers Pira. In his new role, Lally will lead and accelerate strategic growth. He begins in this capacity on 1 February.            Tire Review
