Pirelli unveils new WRC range at Autosport

Pirelli has launched its new range of four rally tyres ahead of its reintroduction to the World Rally Championship. Exhibited at Autosport International, the Italian manufacturer has designed a new RK in size 235/40R18 with hard and soft compound options and  Sottozero studded and studless models for Monte Carlo in size 235/40R18 for asphalt; a Scorpion XR in 205/65-15 for gravel rallies; and a Sottozero Ice in 205/65-15 for the snowy, icy stages of Rally Sweden.

Mario Isola, Pirelli racing manager, said that the tyres’ hallmark “is their versatility”, while the single tread pattern used for asphalt and gravel “brings our competition tyres even closer to the tyres we make for the road.”

The new ranges will also be made available for other rally events outside the WRC, Pirelli stated.
