Rolls-Royce celebrates Sir Henry Royce’s life
At the end of March, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars celebrated 150 years since the birth of one of the company’s founders, Sir Frederick Henry Royce, OBE. The company detailed how, born into humble beginnings on 27 March, 1863, Royce was the youngest of five children. From his earliest successes in the early electrical industry, which he joined in 1884 aged just 21, Royce is said to have uncompromisingly pursued his basic principle of establishing the best design, using the finest materials available, worked by the highest levels of craftsmanship. In his own words: “Strive for perfection in everything you do. Take the best that exists and make it better. When it does not exist, design it.”
