Indian market launch for Vredestein brand
Apollo Tyres has announced the introduction of the Vredestein brand in India. Four ranges from the Dutch tyre maker will initially be available there – the Ultrac Sessanta, Ultrac SUV Sessanta, Ultrac Cento and Sportrac. These will be sold in a range of sizes for 15 to 20-inch rim diameters. The Vredestein range sold in India will complement the existing Apollo passenger car range, Apollo Tyres states.
Commenting on the Vredestein brand’s Indian market launch, Apollo Tyres chairman Onkar S Kanwar said: “India has been and will continue to be a very important market for us. India will benefit immensely from the globalisation efforts of the company. Our investments in research and development centres of excellence, positioning of the brand and other marketing initiatives will endear us more to the discerning Indian customers. A major differentiator for this 100 year old brand, Vredestein, which we are introducing today for the Indian customers, is its premium styling and ultra high performance, the two most important factors considered by owners of luxury cars, before buying a tyre.”
The Vredestein range will be distributed through a ‘hand-picked’ set of business partners in India, mostly in the tier I and tier II cities. The tyres will be sold through multi-branded outlets, including existing Apollo Zones. Although a new arrival in India, the brand has a distinct advantage of access to Apollo Tyres’ network, its trained sales force and the promise of 24 hour service.
