October tyre volumes up 3% – Michelin

October volumes in mature markets have risen by three per cent, according to Michelin. While North American passenger car tyre volumes increased a little more than in Europe to reach an aggregate rise of two per cent, Europe led truck tyre increases at nine per cent versus North America’s six per cent. An analyst report by Deutsche Bank said these results were in line with expectations, while the report drew additional attention to slowing commercial truck original equipment growth in Brazil and Europe during October. The markets grew at 16 and 15 per cent respectively year-on-year, though South America’s largest market has been achieving growth between 40 and 50 per cent in previous months.
