Yokohama’s Russian plant hosts latest tree-planting ceremony
Yokohama ’s Russian tyre manufacturing and sales subsidiary, Yokohama RPZ has hosted the company’s latest tree-planting ceremony at its plant grounds in the Special Economic Zone in Lipetsk. The ceremony is part of the company’s worldwide Yokohama Forever Forest Project. As part of the project, the company plants trees that are specific to the land or region where the tree planting ceremonies are being hosted.
In Russia there were six different tree varieties planted. In total there were more than 1,700 trees planted on property. The Yokohama Forever Forest Project began in 2007 with the goal of planting 500,000 trees by the company’s 100th anniversary in 2017. To date there have been 315,000 trees planted. (Tire Review)
