Tweel named a top new product
It isn’t currently available on this side of the pond, but in the US Michelin’s Tweel has been available for almost a year and is expanding its collection of accolades. In April the airless tyre won a Silver Edison Award and now it has been named one of the 2013 contractors’ top 40 new products by publication Equipment Today.
“We are honoured that the Tweel was chosen as one of Equipment Today’s top 50 new products,” said Tim Fulton, head of Michelin Tweel Technologies. “In today’s competitive construction market, we are addressing the contractor’s need for efficient and reliable mobility solutions.”
In North America, the airless radial is currently sold for use on skid steer loaders in the construction, landscaping, contracting, refuse/recycling and agricultural industries.
The Tweel first saw light of day in 2005 and was commercially launched in October 2012.
