Sumitomo’s CSR report now available in English
Sumitomo Rubber Industries has published the English-language version of its "CSR Report 2013", which was originally released in Japanese in June. The report details the group’s corporate social responsibility activities during 2012.
In order to make this year’s report more readable and accessible, SRI says both the Japanese and English-language versions of the CSR Report 2013 have been divided into three main parts: Part 1 – Feature reports on major CSR themes in 2012; Part 2 – Reports on CSR activities Reports; and Part 3 – Independent assurance reports. Parts 1 and 2 introduce the company’s CSR activities in a way that is easy to understand, organised categorically according to SRI’s “Genki” CSR guidelines (see below), which form a part of the firm’s basic CSR philosophy.
According to SRI, Genki stands for five basic CSR categories: “Green Initiative” (tree planting), “Ecology” (reducing the environmental impact of business activities), “Next” (developing next-generation technologies and products), “Kindness” (towards employees our communities) and “Integrity” (honesty and reliability for stakeholders).
