MAHLE looking for UK expansion
MAHLE Aftermarket is planning a UK roadshow this month to support the recent launch of a range of Behr air conditioning service units.
A supplier of air conditioning and engine cooling systems to European vehicle manufacturers, Behr is now part of the Stuttgart-based MAHLE Group. The company has also supplied A/C service units to the aftermarket in mainland Europe for more than 25 years, and the Behr Acxpert 1000a is the first garage equipment unit to be sold by MAHLE Aftermarket in the UK.
It is suitable for vehicles using refrigerant R134a, as found in most current models. In anticipation of future demand, the company is also stocking the MAHLE ARCTICPRO 2000. This is suitable for systems using HFO1234YF refrigerant – the latest standard for new vehicles. Both are approved by major VM’s.
Following the recent acquisition of RTI Technologies from Bosch, the MAHLE Group also plans to launch a range of diagnostic and complementary garage service equipment for the aftermarket. Service and repair shop diagnostic tools from MAHLE Test Systems are already being used in franchised dealer workshops throughout the world.
By simply using a straightforward graphical menu, these aftermarket tools enable global usage of all information within a data network, integration of diagnostic data into the manufacturer’s product and easy handling of customer data.
Richard Clarke, MAHLE’s head of sales for Garage & Workshop Equipment UK, is encouraged by strong interest in the new product range from nationwide garages.
“Sales are already building, and with the spare parts back up and support we offer, we are confident that our move into the air conditioning sector will prove another successful stage in MAHLE Aftermarket’s expansion strategy in the UK and Ireland.”
