ISO certification for Michelin’s Indian service centres
Michelin has been awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification for its Tyreplus and Michelin Truck Service Centre (MTSC) networks across India. With this certification, Michelin becomes the largest certified tyre service network in the country; the company presently operates 23 Tyreplus and 13 MTSC outlets within India.
“We are committed to India for a longer run, the ISO 9001:2008 certification is a step towards assuring our customers of standardised and quality services across all Tyreplus & MTSC stores in the country,” said Thom Clark, managing director of Michelin India Tyres. “At Michelin, customer service has always been a focus area and this certification is an important step in this direction. This certification will help Michelin increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the Tyreplus & MTSCs network through continual improvement in systems and services quality.”
The certification was carried out by Det Norske Veritas, one of the largest independent and renowned risk management and certification companies in the world. “Globally Michelin is well known for their excellent service quality and standards,” commented Prakash Tikare, Det Norske Veritas’s country manager, Business Assurance, India and Sri Lanka. “With the ISO 9001:2008 certification in India, the company is poised to create an industry benchmark to deliver excellence in quality of customer service through its network of concept stores – MTSC and Tyreplus – spread across India.”
