TRIB/RMA offering UK retread training
US retreading association the Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau is partnering with the Retread Manufacturers Association to offer a ‘Retread Workshop Practice’ course in the UK, commencing in September 2013. The correspondence based course includes two ‘mock’ exams to monitor progress during the periods of study, extending from September 2013 to May 2014, and a final exam, which can be taken at a local university or technical college.
The course reference book is the RMA’s own publication, “Retread Process – Workshop Practice”, which TRIB says was recently written specifically for candidates taking the course and covers a wide range of retreading subject areas, including: Inspections – initial, secondary and final, buffing, repairing, cementing, tread preparation and application, sidewall veneering, matrices, curing, pre-cure retreading, legislation and health & safety.
Certificates are awarded to all successful candidates by the City & Guilds of London Institute. Costs for the course are £269 for TRIB Members and £469 for non TRIB Members; interested parties should contact TRIB for more information.
