Larger solid tyres added to Trelleborg OTR portfolio
When Maine Industrial Tire was integrated into Trelleborg Wheel Systems following its acquisition late last year, its Brawler brand was taken on by the Swedish manufacturer. It has now announced the addition and planned global roll out of a range of Brawler brand large OTR solid tyres.
The Brawler range is already well known across North America where it is used extensively in the scrap metal and waste industries as well as in underground mining. Construction machinery applications covered include loaders, backhoes, skid steers, telehandlers and material handlers. These products are available in wheel sizes from 20-inch skid steer tyres up to 35-inches for wheel loaders. Trelleborg believes the addition of a large OTR range to the portfolio adds another dimension to what it offers in the market.
Trelleborg says the Brawler range includes specialist tyres for the most demanding environments of waste, recycling and underground mining. The company considers the line-up a perfect complement for its existing range of tyres for materials handling applications. “Brawler is particularly suited to the waste and recycling industries,” comments Roberto Zampieri, construction business development manager Europe for Trelleborg Wheel Systems, Industrial Tires. “Many customers in these industries are making the switch from either pneumatics or foam filled pneumatics to solid tyres on large applications. Sites often operate 24/7 and require tyres that last longer, need little maintenance and deliver the best ‘Total Cost of Ownership’ over their whole life.
“The Brawler Solidflex range was developed to maximise user comfort without compromising life or performance,” Zampieri continues. “It uses a patented elliptical hole pattern in the side wall, allowing for much greater deflection over broken terrain; vital for applications where drivers are working on rough ground.”
Brawler will be on display at the Kal Tire stand, number OA210A, at the Resource Efficiency and Waste Management Solution exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham, from 10 to 12 September, 2013.
