Conti launches all-season scooter tyre
Within Europe, Continental generally recommends fitting summer tyres in summer and winter tyres in winter, however the company has made an exception to this in the case of its latest scooter tyre, the ContiMove365. As the numerical designation suggest, this new product is an all-season tyre, and Continental says it has achieved “an astonishing balancing act between summer and winter tyres” with the ContiMove365 and has described the tyre’s tread design as “particularly innovative.”
The ContiMove365 features pairs of deep sipes that the tyre maker says provide a safe grip, even on snow-covered roads. And its wide drainage grooves are intended to guarantee optimal water displacement – Continental says this ensures control of the scooter even in heavy rain. The tyre is M+S designated, which means it complies with road traffic regulations in countries with specific winter tyre requirements, such as Germany.
“The ContiMove 365 also comes up trumps in fine weather, too, with its superb performance in dry conditions,” mentions the company in a statement. “Not only does it keep up a sporty pace, but its trendsetting silica compound provides excellent grip – even without lengthy warm-up times. Since scooters are mostly used for short distances, an impressive performance on a cold run is a crucial factor for buyers.”
Continental sums up the ContiMove365 as being a veritable all-rounder and also notes that the tyre’s rolling resistance has been optimised. It is available in seven sizes including what the manufacturer says are “all the usual sizes”.
