Avon supplies ZZR to Lotus Festival

The Lotus Festival will be staged at Brands Hatch later this month, and following its signing of an exclusive three-year deal with the Lotus on Track Racing Drivers’ Club (LoTRDC) last year Avon Tyres will supply its track-oriented, road legal ZZR to a host of Lotus competitors. As part of the deal Avon is supplying ZZRs to competitors across its burgeoning race championships, including the Lotus Elise Trophy and Lotus Cup Europe, as well as the Lotus Cup UK.

The Lotus Festival, which runs on an annual basis at the Motorsport Vision-run circuit and takes place on 24-25 August this year, is a favourite amongst Lotus owners and motorsport fans alike. Entrants across all three series are set to take to the Kent track over the bank holiday weekend; the Brands Hatch event marks the penultimate round of the European series and will be the sixth round of the Lotus Cup UK and Lotus Elise Trophy series. 

All LoTRDC competitors run the ZZR tyre, which showcases the company’s state-of-the-art race tyre technology. The ZZR is a dry-weather, race-orientated product, delivering improved on-track handling, while also being road legal. Evidencing its performance, Avon points out that nearly every lap record in 2013 has fallen by a number of seconds following the ZZR’s introduction into the LoTRDC championships.

Avon is also reaching out to visitors at the event with a Twitter-based competition, offering a chance to win a selection of Avon-branded merchandise. Avon stickers will be available from the Avon Tyres truck throughout the weekend and visitors who collect a sticker and share an image with the hashtag #avonzzr will automatically be entered into a draw to win.
