Vipal rewarded for export market diversification
Vipal has been recognised for its activities in international markets in an awards ceremony hosted by Porto Alegre trade association ADVB. President Arlindo Paludo received the 2013 Export Award for Market Diversification on 8 July, joining other exporters from the state of Rio Grande do Sul in a variety of categories. Paludo said: “This award is one of the fruits of Vipal’s entire 40 year history. We have always bet on developing products featuring high quality and technology, and have never set environmental preservation aside. It’s a great pleasure to see important competitions like the Export Awards recognizing that.”
Brazil is a major exporter of tyre repair products, mostly as a result of Borrachas Vipal’s status as a South American leader and a globally important retreading product manufacturer. The company, celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2013, is responsible for supplying every continent, with major markets in Latin America, Europe and the United States. The company’s total export revenue in 2012 amounted to US$110 million.
In addition to participating in the sector’s most important international trade fairs and keeping in close touch with the market trends in which it participates, Vipal has designated one of its three factories in Brazil entirely to export production. The company says that it holds a strong position in export markets as a result.
Vipal has 3,000 employees and in addition to its Brazilian factories, owns distribution centres in Spain, Germany, Slovenia, Australia, the United States (one in Florida and another in Virginia), Mexico and Colombia. It also maintains branches in eight other locations: Spain, Germany, Slovenia, Australia, the United States, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Vipal Overseas (Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia).
