Leicester biker wins Bridgestone competition
Leicester’s Sandeep Chudasama beat thousands of bikers across Europe to meet MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi in a Bridgestone promotion. He won the prize in the manufacturer’s ‘Mission Rossi’ tyre sales competition after purchasing a set of Battlax Sport Touring T30 tyres online from the Bike Tyres dealer in Leeds, after which he was automatically entered into the Mission Rossi giveaway. He flew out to Sachsenring, Germany for the latest round of the MotoGP championship with Bike Tyres’ centre manager Lance Jessop.
Chudasama said: “I can’t describe what it was like to meet a living legend and someone who I’ve watched for so many years. I must say a massive thank you to all at Bridgestone, who are the sole tyre suppliers for the MotoGP series. They made this meeting possible and provided me with a great weekend.
He added: “I actually thought this was all one big wind up. When I purchased the tyres, I was only concerned about how well they were going to perform, so when I was told I was entered into Bridgestone’s competition, I didn’t take any notice. When I was told I had won by Bridgestone I was so excited. Then I berated myself for getting carried away and believing it. I was convinced my mates had wound me up. I called every one of them to ask if I’d been had and when they pleaded their innocence, I phoned Bike Tyres Leeds, who confirmed the good news.
Bridgestone’s motorcycle tyre sales manager Steve Watts said Chudasama was the ‘perfect’ winner: “We couldn’t have chosen a better winner had we tried. It was a pleasure to see him enjoying the experience so much. It makes the whole competition worthwhile and from our perspective, he was the perfect winner.”
