Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac ‘best off-road traction tyre’ – Off Road magazine
German magazine Off Road’s readers have chosen Goodyear’s Wrangler DuraTrac as the best off-road product in the ‘Traction Tyres’ category. This was the first time the magazine has invited its readers to vote on tyres alongside their favourite vehicles, and the Goodyear tyre beat all the other products to the inaugural edition of this honour.
The Wrangler DuraTrac was developed for use in tough terrain. The varying longitudinal and lateral width of the shoulder blocks allows the Wrangler DuraTrac to break up certain surfaces, especially loamy ones, more easily, the company says, backed by Off Road.
“With the Goodyear traction tyre, robust off-road vehicles can handle even challenging off-road terrain on rocky surfaces,” said Holger Rehberg, Goodyear product manager. The Wrangler DuraTrac, originally engineered and developed in the United States, is also produced at the company’s Fulda, Germany tyre plant to meet European car manufacturers’ demand for varying tyre dimensions.
About 75,000 readers participated in the voting for the Offroad Awards for 2013, selecting the best off-road vehicles in 13 categories, while also choosing the traction tyre of the year for the first time. The Offroad Award has been given to off-road vehicle manufacturers since 1982.
